Our Beach Talk Series continued last Tuesday with a presentation by photographer and naturalist, Kerry Jarvis. Kerry entertained us with his many stories of life behind the lens and he shared his beautiful photos and videos with us. The audience was fortunate to hear some helpful tips about responsible and ethical photography, and how to work towards improving our skills as nature photographers. Kerry highlighted that shooting wildlife, plants or natural landscapes is not about getting that great shot at all costs, but requires a respect for safety and the natural world. He made it clear that anyone can be a photographer, whether it’s with an SLR camera, a digital camera, or a cell phone. It’s safe to say that we all left with an eagerness to get outside and start shooting!
Please join us tonight at 7pm at the Sauble Beach Community Centre for the next talk by Peter Middleton, educator, nature travel guide, and Director of Ontario Nature. Peter will be recounting his many walks on the wild side throughout the Bruce Peninsula.
