Nest 2 Update

Jenna Skinner Plover Lovers Committee, Sauble Beach, Updates from the Beach

On Tuesday night, Lake Huron’s high water level was pushed even higher by strong winds, resulting in big waves washing out the nest closest to the water’s edge – Nest 2. This is an unfortunate, but natural, event with shore-nesting birds and their biological response will be to re-nest at this still-early point in the breeding season. We will follow them closely and let you know the outcome!
