Mr. Lonely is lonely no more!

The male bird, whose nickname stems from his lack of luck in securing a mate last year, is sitting on a new nest at Sauble Beach (see if you can spot him in the photo). The first egg was found yesterday morning and exclosures are already installed for predator protection.

In total, there are three nests at Sauble Beach, two of which have all four eggs. If you’d like to see amazing, close-up photographs of the 7 birds that are on the beach, be sure to check out Merri-Lee Metzger’s website at  http://www.merrileesnaturephotos.com/#!blog-1/ctkd

A big thank you to Merri-Lee who has played an integral role in band identification and has provided us with beautiful photos of the birds!
